Historical Issues

 

 

We have decided to put a hold on this experiment. These notices have been posted for a little over a year but we have no way to measure whether the community benefit is worth the time. Unless we hear differently from the community these notices will no longer be posted.

Projects seeking a descretionary permit (Coastal Development, Site Development, etc) go through the regular public notice process and thus are easier for the community and neighbors to track historical issues.

Projects seeking a ministerial permit (building permit) are more difficult to track as there is no public notice required.

The City instituted a process whereby certain designated contacts would be notified when a building permit was sought on a house over 45 years old. For La Jolla the community planning group has designated the La Jolla Historical Society as that contact. The required response time (Due Date) is very fast--5 to 10 working days or so.
